ARTIST’S COMENTS: I chose France because I’ve always felt connected to La France. I took French lessons from first grade through my first year in college. I worked with a French woman in Washington, D.C. and we spoke only French in the office – until the boss got paranoid and said English only! In 2015, I had the wonderful opportunity to drive around much of the country and spend time in some of the loveliest towns and cities. The food – goes without saying – incroyable! The wine – oh so marveilleux! The profiterole – au-delà de la croyance!!!!! And the people – everywhere we went, people were kind and helpful and interested in chatting. It is a beautiful country, from Normandy to Nice, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and I look forward to going back for another visit!
