ARTIST: PIA COUNTRY: Chile FLAG COLORS: Blue / Red / White ARTIST’S COMENTS: The inspiration came from Easter Island birdman cult symbols and Mapuche natives in the South of Chile. The copper represents the richness of this metal in the Atacama Desert, north of Chile. The yellow was part of the flag colors in the earlier part of 19th Century. The flag also has a five pointed star and the blue color represents the Andes mountains as well as the Pacific Ocean. They both run along the length of this beautiful country where I was born. The white corresponds to the snow of the Andes mountains. The red is a reminder of the blood of those who sacrificed themselves for their land. ARTIST LINKS: piaartist.com
